Mr. Cleavell Jones was born February 8, 1942 in Schaal, Arkansas to Lovell and Earnice Jones.  He was one of eight children from this union.  His siblings, Lure Jones, Kay Jones, Londell Jones and Joelean Jones-Perryman preceded him in death.

At an early age, he attended Tabernacle C.M.E Church Schaal, Arkansas.  God called him home April 9, 2020.

His surviving siblings, Edna May, Hezel Jones of Los Angeles, California and Patricia Jones-Rillera of Redondo Beach, California.

Cleavell attended Howard County Training School in Tollette, Arkansas.  He worked at Lone Star, Red River and retired from Weyerhaeuser in Dierks, Arkansas. 

Cleavell lost his father, Lovell Jones in 1957 and his mother, Earnice Jones March 28, 2018.

Cleavell married the love of his life, Mrs. Velma Jones, to this union five children were born:  Cleavell D. Jones (Denise) of Tampa, Florida, William Jones (Brenda), Constance Ware (Raymond), Sandra Jones of Mineral Springs, AR, Pinkie Moore (Derek) of El Dorado, Arkansas; a son, Raymond White (Stephanie Payton) of Flint, Michigan; grandchildren, Pamela Works, Jason Ware, Delano Polite, Bre’Auna Cooper, Demetrious Moore, Daylan Moore, Addicus Jones, Evander Jones, Cleavell D. Jones, Jr.; five great grandchildren, DaJanae Watson, Tania Watson, Kendaleah Works, Amorah Moore and Za’Myah Smith.

Graveside service will be 11am Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Bethel Cemetery, 582 Barton Bethel Road, Mineral Springs, AR.  Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
