Clyde Denon Tomlin

Clyde Denon Tomlin, 92 of Rosston went home to the lord on Tuesday February 21, 2023.  He was born June 14, 1930, to James Amzie & Bessie Sutton Tomlin.  He graduated from Bodcaw High School in 1951.  In May of 1952 he married the love of his life, Betty Jo Green and they were married for 70 wonderful years.

In 1952 he went to work for the Arkansas Forestry Commission fighting forest fires and then worked as a foreman at the Baucum Nursery in North Little Rock raising pine seedlings. In 1971 he moved back to Bluff City where he took over as Nursery Supervisor until he retired in 1989 with 37 years’ service.

After retirement he moved back home to Rosston where he continued to farm and raise cattle.  He loved working the land growing all types of crops, most notably watermelons and sorghum cane for syrup. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and trap. He most always had a smile on his face, never met a stranger and his quick wit left you laughing. Always a prankster, anyone who knew him knew that when the stories started you better have on knee boots cause it was about to get deep.

Denon was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his family and is deeply loved and greatly missed.
