Celebrating the Life of Cornell “Redd” Lockett
Cornell Lockett, affectionately known as “Redd,” was born on April 18, 1969, in Flint, Michigan, to Fannie Elnora Roshell Lockett and Gentle James. Cornell departed this life on January 15, 2026, at the age of 56. He was a graduate of Beecher High School in Flint, MI.
Cornell was a devoted member of Greater Hope Baptist Church in Hope, Arkansas. He married the love of his life, Sandra Cheatham, on February 12, 2005, and together they shared 21 years of marriage. Cornell was a dedicated employee at Firestone in Prescott, Arkansas, where he worked for over 20 years. He also held various other positions throughout his life, including employment at Meyer’s Bakeries in Hope, AR.
Redd enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including fishing, barbecuing, and watching his favorite NFL team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, on game day. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Fannie Elnora Roshell Lockett, and his siblings, Rickey Price, Kenneth Roshell, and James Cortez Lockett.
Cornell leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Sandra Lockett; five children, Marland Montgomery (Ke’undra), Jurnee Lockett, Henry Phillips Jr., Justin Phillips, and Keman Rhone; his father, Gentle James; three siblings, Xavier Tashon Beard, Zakiyyah Metcalf, and Zamaria Metcalf; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
