In Loving Memory of Dashawn Compton
Dashawn Lamar Compton was born on November 4, 1999, in Hope, Arkansas, to LaTonya Brown-Compton and Travis Compton. He attended the Mineral Springs School District and was a proud graduate of Mineral Springs High School, Class of 2018. Shawn played varsity football as a wide receiver and running back, proudly wearing jersey number #4.
He worked in construction, traveling to various job sites for a company called Rimcor. Shawn appreciated nature and enjoyed activities such as football, four-wheeler riding, fishing, and hunting. He loved being outdoors and had a special affection for his pit bull. One of his favorite hobbies was gambling, which he found enjoyable. Shawn was also an avid fan of the Oregon Ducks college football team.
On Thursday, January 8, 2026, Dashawn Compton passed away unexpectedly in Hope, Arkansas, at the age of 26. He was known for his great sense of humor and contagious laugh and enjoyed life in a lively, fun-loving way. May he rest in peace.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Herman Brown Jr.
Dashawn leaves to cherish his memory three beloved sons: Omarion Cater, Kyrie Compton, and Ja’Kobe Compton; and three girls he loved and cherished as his own: Emma Armenta, Ella Armenta, and Kyndell Armenta. He is also survived by his mother, LaTonya Compton, and her special friend, Shontelle McKillion; his father, Travis Compton, and wife, Philistia Compton; his brother, Markeies Moore; his grandmothers, Shara Brown and Diana (David) Hunt; his grandfather, Billy Wayne Brown; his step-sister, Felycitie Oliver; his special brothers, DaMetrick Hall and Deairreis Hall; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, close relatives, and friends.
There will be no public visitation on Friday. A farewell viewing will be held on Saturday at the service.
