David Armstrong Clark passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 after a difficult battle with Multiple System Atrophy. He is remembered as an adventurous, kind, and ethical man who always gave generously, loved strongly, and stood unwaveringly by his family and friends.

He was born on Monday, October 16, 1961 in El Dorado, Arkansas to parents David G. Clark and Nancy Armstrong Clark. His brothers, Joe and Steve, joined the family and the three would proceed to make mischief together for fifty or so years.

David didn’t brag much, but we’ll brag for him: He graduated from Catholic High School and the University of Arkansas. He had a distinguished career in Information Technology. He competed in many body-building competitions, including Mr. Arkansas. He enlisted in the Army National Guard and was called to active duty during the Gulf War. He was an expert at restoring motorcycles and cars, and indeed has left us with a half-finished 2010 FJ Cruiser we’ll never restore as well as he could have. He summited Mount Kilimanjaro in 2007, and hiked to Mt. Everest Base Camp in 2010. He was equally happy camping in the rain or wearing a Hugo Boss suit at the theater, as long as he was with his friends. 

He met Ana Castellanos in 1986. Much to the chagrin of their families and friends, they eloped in 1989. They lived a beautiful life together.

David and Ana traveled extensively with a close group of friends who became like family. During David’s illness, these friends were a constant source of support. The family is eternal grateful for them. 

He loved his family fiercely and is survived by: His parents David and Nancy; his wife Ana and daughter Valorie; his brother Joe (Stacy), and children Emily (Zachary), Anna Grace, and Austin; his brother Steve (Robyn), and son Stephen David; his uncle Jim Clark (Ann Porter); his aunts Judy Armstrong and Rosemary Clark; and his uncles Jim and Mack Armstrong (Louise). He was preceded in death by his uncles, Mark Armstrong and Robert Clark; and his grandparents M.D. & Mary Wren Armstrong and Dr. Frank & Margaret Gibbs Clark.   

Visitation on December 17 from 11 am-1 pm with funeral service to follow immediately. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery. Harmony United Methodist Church 6075 Hwy 73 East Emmet Arkansas 71835
