David McNeil

David Allen McNiel, age 70, of Spring Hill, Arkansas, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, August 2, 2024. David was born to Travis Clide and Jewell Faye (Shoemake) McNiel on April 22, 1954. He was a dedicated member of Bethany Baptist Church in Spring Hill for as long as he was able to attend and remained a faithful member throughout his life.

David was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty Jean (McNiel) Rogers. On May 15, 1976, he married his sweetheart, Artie “Laurie” (Harrison) McNiel. He is survived by his wife of 48 years and three sons, whom he proudly witnessed being saved and baptized: David Michael McNiel and Sarah of Patmos, Arkansas, Danny Charles McNiel and his wife Montie of Spring Hill, Arkansas, and Kyle Benjamin McNiel and his wife Celeste of Texarkana, Texas. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Will, Garrett, Mikhyala, Lexi, Laney, Isiah, Isabella, Noah, Maggie, Clyde, Katie, Grady, Hudson, Mason, Charly, Ben, and Ryann; one great-grandchild, Logun, with another on the way. Additionally, he is survived by one sister, Julie (McNiel) Allison, and her husband Tommy of Spring Hill, Arkansas; two brothers, Clayton McNiel and his wife Denise of Emerson, Arkansas, and Joe McNiel and his wife Karen of Hope, Arkansas; along with many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, and a special friend, Wayne Allison.

David worked at Champion, Carpet Cushion, and Firestone, retiring in April of 2019. He loved his family immensely, and his favorite activities included camping, cheering for the Razorbacks, and supporting his grandchildren in all their endeavors.

Davids love, faith, and dedication to his family and community will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

Our dad loved our mom deeply and unwaveringly. She was the center of his life, the one who made his days brighter, but he also made sure to be an incredible dad and friend to us boys. We never once doubted his love for us. His actions spoke louder than words, showing us daily how much he cared. He was a quiet, simple, and humble man who didnt need many things to make him happy. His joy came from the love of his family, the simple pleasures in life, and the values he held dear. He taught us the importance of integrity, hard work, and humility.

Our dad was the kind of person who led by example. He showed us how to live with kindness, how to love unconditionally, and how to find contentment in the little things. He was always there for us, whether it was cheering us on at our games, offering sage advice, or just spending time with us.

His love and guidance have shaped us into the men we are today. He was not just a father but also a mentor and a friend. We couldn’t have asked for a better dad, and his legacy will continue to live on in our hearts and lives.

Husband, Daddy, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, and friend. We love you. -David, Danny, Kyle
