David Randall Hampton, 69, of Hope stood up for the first time in about 5 years not needing a walker, a lift, a wheelchair, or a gait belt and walked to meet Jesus face to face Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Hope.
Mr. Hampton was born August 10, 1955, to Louis and Louise May Hampton in Hope. He was a Department of Human Services supervisor for 22 years and sold insurance at State Farm. He was a member of First Baptist Church and an avid Razorback fan. He was a wonderful husband, father, and pawpaw who loved spending time with his family and friends. Friends who would visit with David would say he was the most positive person and you would always catch him smiling.
Mr. Hampton is preceded by his parents and brother, Dwight Hampton.
David is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marilyn Dodson Hampton; 4 sons, David Hampton (Hannah) of Hope, Daniel Hampton (Analicia) of Hope, Chris Hampton of Rogers, Jim Hampton (Hayley) of Ada, OK; sister, Virginia Birdwell of Texarkana; granddaughters, Hannah, Harmony, and Victoria Hampton; the first grandson, Henry Randall Hampton will arrive in April 2025; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00pm Thursday, October 31, 2024, at First Baptist Church with Bro. David Bramlett officiating. Services are entrusted to Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
