It was Tuesday, September 13, 1994, in Hope, Arkansas, when a baby boy was born to Sherrie Williams and Rodney Witherspoon, named Deontez Montel Williams. Deontez was better known as “Dee”. He was a graduate of Hope High School, Class of 2014, and also completed Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) in 2014. He was a member of Victory Temple Church under the leadership of Rev. Allen White.
Dee was a very likable person whom everyone knew and loved. He had a smile that lit up the room. He loved dancing, fishing, joking with others, and partying with his family and friends. Always the life of the party! At the age of 29 on Sunday, January 28, 2024, he departed this life but never from our hearts.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Johnny Frank Witherspoon; maternal grandparents, Brenda Muldrew and David Williams; and bonus grandmother, Jewell Lee.
Dee's memories are cherished in the hearts of his mother, Sherrie Purifoy; father, Rodney Witherspoon; stepfathers, Demarkus Newton and Ricky Farris; stepmother, Sheree Witherspoon; brothers, RJ Farris and Rongerald Witherspoon; grandmother, Maebell Samuels; uncles, Lemario Hightower, Walter Nabors, and Benjamin Newton Jr.; aunts, Latoya Lee, Dwyanna Lee, Jazzma Newton, Shaniqua White, Joan Nabors, Krystal Wyatt, and Renika Modisett; great aunts, Dottie Williams, Nanette Booker, and Joyce Horton; special cousins, Whittney Cook, Paradise Talley, Jequala Modisett, Cormeashia Wesley, Gary Williams, Christopher Hopson, Mykla Horton, Charles Horton, Bri Lawson, Briana Dotson, Johnny Williams; special friends, Roy Pollins Jr., Alicia Scott, and Lisa Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
