Don Worthey, age 87, passed away from this life Tuesday May 21, 2024, in Hope, AR.

Don was born September 25, 1936, in Hempstead County, AR to Dewey and Annis Clark Worthey, Sr.

He was the Hempstead County Sheriff for 10 years, a bus driver for Hope Public Schools, former owner of D&D Auction Company and a fixture at Herndon-Pharr and Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home working countless funeral services. Don loved working in his garden and would share his produce with the office ladies at the funeral home.  He loved his family and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. 

Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorris Askew Worthey, brothers Manuel Worthey, Dillard Worthey, and Dewey Worthey, Jr, sisters Maxine Worthey Quillin, Dorothy Worthey Norvell and Jewell Worthey Hartsfield.

He is survived by his wife Linda Watson Worthey; two sons Randy Quillin and Rusty Quillin; a daughter Renee Bates; six grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. 

Visitation will be held 9:00am Friday, May 24, 2024, at Hope Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 10:00am with Bro. Marshall Almarode officiating.  Interment will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
