Reflections of Her Life

Dorothy Faye Tolliver

Dorothy Faye Tolliver was born on Thursday, November 1, 1956, in Hope, Arkansas, to Roy Loudermilk and Maeola Ogburn. Dorothy was also raised by Boaz Tolliver, who played a very influential role in her upbringing. She accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Johnny Jones at Providence Baptist Church in Hope, AR. She later joined First Church of God in Hope, AR.

Dorothy, known to many as “Poochie,” attended Yerger High School and graduated from Hope High School in 1976. Dorothy was one who loved her family, especially her mom, Maeola “Big Mama” Ogburn. When you saw one, you saw the other. Dorothy was always there for her four sons and grandchildren. She loved cooking and sitting on the porch in the early mornings, drinking her coffee or Dr. Pepper. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and never cooked small dinners; there was always enough for others.

Dorothy worked for General Farm Service, Medical Park Hospital, and Hope Housing Authority until her health began to decline. On Saturday, September 2, 2023, Dorothy was granted eternal peace at her residence at the age of 66, with her granddaughter, Khadijah Conway, by her side. Although Dorothy’s family was not ready for her to go, God needed her more.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Loudermilk and Maeola Ogburn; bonus father, Borag “Boaz” Tolliver; her brothers, DeWayne Martin and Frederick Loudermilk; her sisters, Linda Reeves and Mary Loudermilk; her grandson, Blessing Ross Tolliver; and her great-grandchildren, Landon and Lauren Conway.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories her sons: Christian (Ja Rai) Williams Sr. of San Antonio, TX; Lincoln (Rhonda) Conway Sr., Lamonza (Brithanie) Tolliver Sr., Darcel Tolliver, all of Hope, AR; sisters: Linda (Moses) Webb of Flint, MI; Carolyn Loudermilk and Mary Holyfield, both of Hope, AR; Brenda Loudermilk of Stuttgart, AR; brothers: Larry (Joann) Loudermilk, Ted (Carolyn) Loudermilk, both of Stuttgart, AR; James (Katie) Loudermilk of Dallas, TX; Henry McKenny of Little Rock, AR; Owen McKenny of Kansas City, MO; R.C. (Shirley) Loudermilk of Hope, AR; grandchildren: Khadijah Conway, Ka’Meisha Conway, A’Lecia Conway, A’Raevia Conway, Lincoln Conway Jr., Braylon Turner, Amauri Willis, Christian Williams Jr., Micah Williams, Chyna Tolliver, Elijah Tolliver, Lamonza Tolliver Jr., Demauri Tolliver, Debraylnn Tolliver, and Tevis Maxwell; 8 great-grandkids; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
