Dr. H.L. Waldrop

Dr. H.L. Waldrop

 Dr. H.L. Waldrop was a 1974 graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry and had a general practice in Peoria Illinois. He served the Peoria District Dental Society [PDDS] in all offices, including President in 1991. Dr. Waldrop served on the dental advisory committee of Illinois Central College's Dental Hygiene Department where he taught oral pathology. Dr. Waldrop served as delegate to the Illinois State Dental Society [ISDS] House of Delegates multiple times, and
on many ISDS Committees including the Peer Review Committee and Chairman 1995-1999, Finances and Planning Committee and Chairman 2001-2002, Leadership Conference Committee and Chairman 2002, Special Committee on Membership Recruitment and Retention, Leadership Conference Program Chairman 2002, ISDS Component and Member Services Committee and Chairman 2002. Dr. Waldrop was the Illinois State Dental Society trustee for
Central District 1999-2002. He served the American Dental Association [ADA] delegation as a delegate for the 8th district, and on the ADA Reference Committee for Communications and Member Services.

In his community, Dr. Waldrop served as chair of men's fellowship for Grace Presbyterian Church, member of the Peoria Area Community Foundation, and Wholistic Health Board at Methodist Hospital, and lectured at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. Dr. Waldrop developed the Adult Dental Clinic for Peoria Health Department in 1991, and the General Practice Residency at OSF Saint Francis Hospital for dentists in 2010, treating low income patients and teaching young dentists. Dr. Waldrop was a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists and Academy of Dentistry International, and member of the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Waldrop appears in many Who's Who publications. He is survived by Robert Leon Waldrop, his son, a graduate of the University of Illinois, Computer Engineering, and two granddaughters.

He will be buried in Springhill, Arkansas next to his parents at the Bethany Cemetery on Friday, July 1st, 2022 @ 6pm at a graveside celebration of life service performed by Bethany Baptist Church. Visitors will enjoy hearing about the Father Heart of God, the absolute Lordship of Jesus, eternity and realigning toward highest priorities.

In lieu of flowers, H.L. requested that memorials be made out to the “Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery Fund” for continuing the care of Bethany Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to Bethany Baptist Church, 589 HWY 355, Hope, AR 71801. The immediate family can also forward memorials on to the church.
