Life Reflections of
Eddie Dywane Williams, Sr.
On February 4, 1957, in Nashville, Arkansas, a humble, hardworking, and faithful man came into the world: Eddie Dywane Williams Sr. born to Elmore and Valdee Green Williams, he grew into a man known for strength, love, and service. On Monday, November 17, 2025, at the age of 68, Eddie peacefully transitioned after a courageous battle with cancer.
Eddie was raised in Saratoga, Arkansas, and graduated from Saratoga High School, Class of 1975. That same year, he began a 44-year career at Weyerhaeuser in Dierks, Arkansas. He became well-known for his loyalty and unmatched hands-on skills—Eddie could build, fix, or repair anything. His work was never just work; it was his way of helping people. He showed up for anyone who needed him, usually offering advice, jokes, and his own special kind of “Eddie supervision.” He liked things done a certain way and didn’t mind giving instructions—sometimes asked for, sometimes not—but always coming from the heart.
Eddie was rooted in faith. He was raised at Harmony C.M.E. Church and later joined Corinth First Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as an Jr. Choir President, Chairmen of Recreational Committee, Bylaws Committee, Usher and Active Assisting Church Trustee. He worked hard, greeted members with that famous “Eddie look,” and made sure the church traveled safely around Arkansas. He drove like he was escorting royalty, kept everyone laughing, and, of course, stayed in charge of the directions.
Eddie also carried a deep pride in his Masonic heritage. He served with honor in several positions of Masonry, including:
• Past Junior Warden – Silver Moon Lodge #15
• Past Worthy Joshua – J.M. Lankford Court #12, Heroines of Jericho
• Member – S.T. Boyd Consistory #201
• Valley of Washington, Orient of Arkansas, A.A.S.R., 32°
One of the greatest joys of Eddie’s life was the friendships and lifelong brotherhood he shared with those closest to him—his true friend and domino partner, Lonnie Morris; his faithful Masonic brother and travel companion, Benny Green; his steady and loyal friend, Don Marks; and the special bond he shared with his son-in-law, Robert Phillips, with whom he spent countless hours helping to build his shop, pouring his love and labor into it.
He also held a deep and enduring friendship with Alisa Walker, who cared for him with unwavering support over the years.
Eddie was preceded in death by his son, Eddie Dywane Williams Jr.; his grandson, Chanse Phillips; his parents, Elmore and Valdee Green Williams; his grandparents, Earl Bradley and Rose Green; and his brothers, Robert Williams and Charles Williams.
He leaves behind two loving daughters, Sherese (Robert) Phillips and Rebekah (Torin) Block; three stepchildren, Marsha Byers, Sharon Byers, and Johnny Byers; His grandchildren: Natisha Williams, Niesha Howard, Chassidy Phillips, and Abari Williams; His step-grandchildren: Quante’via Rhodes, Elizah Walker, Shacoya Byers, DaVonte Purifoy, and Demarion Wesley; His siblings: Brothers Charles Wesson, Herbert Williams of Texarkana, AR, Earl Williams and Cyril Williams. Sisters Margree Stanton, Violet Kay Thornton, Vanessa (Rusty) Vaughn, Martha Jefferson, and Betty Williams.
He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Eddie’s presence blessed everyone who knew him. His memory lives on in the things he built, the people he helped, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit remains a steady, loving guide to all who carry his legacy forward.
