Gwendolyn "Kathy" Terry

Gwendolyn “Kathy” Terry, of Hope, Arkansas, suddenly left this world on March 24, 2020 at the age of 86.  She was born on June 22, 1933, in Lehigh, Oklahoma to Clora Mae McMillan and Henry Gray.

Kathy was a retired entertainer and entrepreneur.  Her eyes lit up when speaking of her dancing career which led her to San Francisco, California, Miami Beach, Florida, and even Broadway New York.  She was a foster parent to many wayward teens; was crafty and loved collecting baby dolls and jewelry.  She enjoyed playing the flute in her earlier years, listening to classical music in her car and sewing when time allowed.  She was one of a kind and always had a story to tell about her cats or her life on the carnival.  She also attended Our Lady of Good Hope and loved her church family very much.

Kathy was widowed twice in her lifetime.  Robert William Miller, married 21 years and Walter “Bill” Terry, married 35 years.  Both loved her with all they had.

She is survived by daughters: Joyce Parmelee of San Luis Obisbo, CA, Pamela Miller of Bossier City, LA, and Wendy Walters (Michael) of Hope, AR; sons: Robert “Bob” Miller II (Goldie) of Bossier City, LA and George “Guy” Byram (Mary) of Denver, CO; 13 grandchildren, Tammy Catlin, Danny Miller, Jessica Miller, Robert Miller III, Michael Miller, Matthew Miller, Tymmie Byram, Bryan Whipkey (Haley), Taylor Whipkey (Roger) Jonathan Whipkey (Becca), Hanna Walters (Nick) and Mollie Walters; as well as 10 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.  Kathy is also survived by a special friend who was by her side to take her to lunch, clean and just be there to care, Jim Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hope for Paws, 2858 Hwy 174 S., Hope, AR  71801 or Paypal to [email protected]

A memorial service will be held on a later date.
