Harold 'Hal' Wilkes Branch

Hal Branch of Hope, Arkansas left to be with our Heavenly Father and Son Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 4, 2023.

He was born February 11, 1939, in Hope to James W. Branch M.D. and Frances Nell Wilkes Branch. Hal was a graduate with a BS from Texarkana College, not only was he was the first male, but he was in the first graduating class of the Registered Nursing program at Texarkana College. Hal also graduated from the Holiday Inn School, in Memphis TN and operated the Holiday Inn in Hope for several years and soon worked for Baylor University, in Dallas. He was also the proud owner of Branch Medical Electronics.

Hal was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers: James “Jimmy” Wilkes Branch II M.D., Robert “Bobby” Branch, and wife of 55 years Sonya Somerville Branch.

Survivors include his children: Harold Wilkes Branch Jr. M.D. and grandson Conner Branch of Beebe, AR; Maryjett Branch McCampbell (Sam) and granddaughters: Madison and Audrey of Benton, AR ; Cristina Branch Roberts (Rhett) and granddaughter Charlie Reese Roberts of Hot Springs, AR; sister Mary Nell Brusenhan (Bill) of Hot Springs Village; nephews: William Kalkbrenner of Little Rock, AR; Matthew Kalkbrenner of Little Rock, AR; nephew James Wilkes Branch III of Victoria, Mindoro Orient of Philippines; Rosemary Branch Olsen of New Braunfuls, TX; Jennifer Branch Warren of Wichita KA; Charles Branch of Mineola, TX and a great friend and devoted family member of the Branch family, Dwight W. Moore of Hope, AR.

A private service will be held by the family at Memory Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
