Helen Thompson

Helen Thompson, of Hope, passed away August 31, 2025. Her service will be held on
September 26, 2025, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. The Rosary will be prayed at
9:15am and mass will follow at 10:00am.

Helen was born on October 30,1941 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Edward and Anna
Carczynsky. She graduated from Redlands High School, Redlands, CA and married John
Thompson on November 25, 1959.

Helen was an active member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. She taught RE
classes, sang in the choir, worked with the food pantry, and helped in any capacity she could.
She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great- grandmother, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched everyone she met.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind her beloved children, who will forever carry her love in their hearts, three grandchildren (Ashley (Jay), Bradley and Danielle) and 5 great- granddaughters (Harper Grace, Finley, Colette, Elin and Margot Mae). These greats brought Helen endless pride and happiness. "Mamoo" treasured every moment with these girls, and they kept her busy with soccer games, grandparents’ day, lunches at school, plays, helping to bake and cook, playing make up, reading bedtime stories, swimming, going to church, watching movies and just hanging out. They were her life, as she was theirs.

Helen will always be known for her generous spirit, gentle heart, and the strength with which she lived her life. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, brother Eugene Carczynsky and husband John
Thompson.

She is survived by her four children: Jerry Thompson (April) of Little Rock; Becky Kubin (Jeff)
of Caldwell, TX; Danny Thompson of Hope; Karen McNiel (Joe) of Hope, AR; her sister Fran
Viero of San Bernardino, CA and many nieces and nephews.
