Remembering James Hollywood Deloney:
A Beloved Soul with a Radiant Smile
James Hollywood Deloney was born on Friday, November 2, 2001, in Hope, Arkansas, to James “Hollywood” Luther Deloney Sr. and Jessie Holcomb. Affectionately called “Toot”, James attended Hope Public Schools as a member of the Class of 2021 and was known for his loving, laid-back, and quiet spirit. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, and had a deep love for God. Among his favorite gospel songs were “I’m Blessed” and “Cooling Water”. He was also passionate about fashion and had a smile that could light up any room.
James was called home by the Almighty at the age of 22 on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Toot will always remain in our hearts and memories forever.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Luther Deloney Sr.; maternal grandparents, Mary Willis and Leon Holcomb; and paternal grandparents, Osie People and Carrie People.
Loved ones left to cherish his memories are: his son, Giovanni ("Gio") James Hollywood Deloney of Hope, AR; mother, Jessie Holcomb (Tony) of Hope, AR; sisters, Kewante’ Harper (Darnell), Deborah Stewart, and Jennifer Robinson, all of Hope, AR; brothers, Xavier Moss (Marqueesha) of Conway, AR, and James Robinson of Hope, AR; close friends, Kenya Wesley, Cameron Rhodes, Adrian Dominguez, Jaheim Davis; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces/two great nieces, cousins, and friends.
