James “Jimmy” E. McBrayer, 92, of Prescott, AR went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 27, 2023 in Little Rock, AR.
Jimmy was born May 29, 1931, in Prescott, AR to Cliff and Leola McBrayer. He was a United States Air Force Korean War Veteran. He was “Honorably” discharged from the Air Force as an X-Ray technician and returned to Prescott, AR to work with his father as a contract painter. After 40 years of contract painting, he has painted almost every house in Prescott. Jimmy was also served with the Prescott Fire Department which he retired as the Prescott Fire Chief after 40 years. He was a hard worker and at the age of 75 he could outwork his son and he was very resourceful when it came to fixing things or completing projects. Jimmy spent many hours physically building the Central Baptist Church where he was a lifetime member. He was a family man who loved his son, grandsons, and especially his great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margaret “Rocky” McBrayer, and one sister.
Jimmy is survived by his son, Tim McBrayer (Debra); a brother Bob McBrayer; two sisters Nelda and Peggy; two grandsons Ryan McBrayer and Trent McBrayer; three great grandchildren Ava McBrayer, Lilly McBrayer, and Connor McBrayer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023, 2:00pm at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home Prescott Chapel, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Prescott.
