James Thomas (Tommy) Landes, 77, of Hope, AR passed away January 13, 2021 at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Hope.  Tommy was born July 16, 1943 in Hope, AR to Thurman Vern Landes, Sr.  and Lucille Vines Landes. 

Tommy was co-owner of Landes Towing and Recovery and a member of Arkansas Towing and Recovery Board. He retired after 36 years from Butane Gas of Hope and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

Mr. Landes was preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers, and one sister.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonnie Mae Higgins Landes of Hope; two sons, Tommy Wayne and wife Riche’ Landes, and Bobby Ray Landes all of Hope; a daughter, Debbie Fisher and husband Gilbert of Gulf Port, MS; a sister, Dianna Applegate of Hope; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Providence Cemetery with Bro. Kenneth Bobo and Bro. Charles Jones officiating, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home. 

Due to COVID-19, the family request that you wear a face mask at all services.

The family would like to express their thanks to the Doctors and Nurses from Wadley Regional Medical Center of Hope and Kerri with Kindred Healthcare of Texarkana for the care and support of Mr. Landes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Providence Baptist Church.
