Jami Lyn Godwin age 25 of Hope, Arkansas went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Heather Manor Nursing Home in Hope, Arkansas. Jami was born march 1, 1994 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Mike Godwin and Dee Godwin. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hope.

Jami was a free spirit whose infectious smile captivated all who knew her. She was full of energy, talent, and love. Jami was a very outgoing and determined young lady. She loved helping others; she gave pitching lessons to many young girls. Jami was a fierce competitor, a true athlete, a fearless leader to her team, and feared by her opponents. She was well respected by others and she showed respect to everyone as well. Jami loved sports. She started playing tournament softball at the age of 8. She travelled all over the U.S. playing with the Arkansas Livewires. She was the MVP or outstanding pitcher in 5 world series. Jami was a 4 time all state player for the Hope Lady cats and continued playing softball in college at SAU. If she wasn’t playing softball, you could find her on the soccer field, playing basketball, or golf. In softball, she could pitch all day and all night long, always giving it her best. Jami loved all animals: dogs, cats, insects, rabbits, and lizards. She had her own unique style; she was brave and a daredevil.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ivy and Maisie Godwin and her maternal grandfather Jimmy Fincher.

She is survived by her mother, Dee Godwin, her father, Mike Godwin, one brother, Steven Godwin, and one son Drake Godwin Fincher, all of Hope, a grandmother, Wanda Fincher of Prescott, AR, and a host of relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jami Godwin’s softball scholarship fund at Bancorp South 200 south Elm Street Hope, Arkansas 71801.

Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at First Baptist Church 315 South Main Street, Hope, AR 71801.
