A GLIMPSE INTO HER LIFE
Sister Jettie Lou Gulley was born on September 22, 1942, in Falcon, Arkansas, to Napoleon Gulley and Annie Mae Tucker. She was the only girl among four children. She attended Yerger High School and graduated with the Class of 1961.
Ms. Jettie was employed at Hudson Hatchery for many years and held various other jobs—often working two or more at a time—to provide for her family until she could no longer work due to a disability.
She was well known around town, often seen riding in style—sunglasses on, rims on her car—always dressed to impress with her stylish nails and jewelry. She loved sunflowers, enjoyed cooking, and cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, church family, friends, and loved ones. She was a faithful member of Haynes Chapel Baptist Church until her health declined. She deeply loved her pastor and church family.
Ms. Jettie Lou Gulley departed this life on June 30, 2025, at the age of 82, at Christus St. Michael Hospital, surrounded by her family. May she rest in her heavenly home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Lincoln Gulley, Willie White, and James Gulley; and her sons Jeremiah Wesley and Larry Smith.
She leaves to cherish her memory four children: Bruce Harris of Hope, AR; Gregory Wesley of Mineral Springs, AR; Carol Jackson of Jacksonville, AR; and Fredrick (Brenda) Prater of Hope, AR. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.
