Joe Johnson
“BeBe”
Brother Joseph Henry Johnson, affectionately known as “BeBe,” passed away on the morning of Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the age of 72. Joe was the youngest of five children, born on Thursday, November 29, 1951, to Olen and Ora Johnson in Prescott, Arkansas.
Joe accepted Christ at an early age. He graduated from Prescott High School with the Class of 1971. He also began his work career at an early age, working at Stewart Furniture, Potlatch Lumber Company, Prescott Medical Supply, and the City of Prescott Utilities.
He was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of Rev. N.E. Jones. He served in many auxiliaries, including as a Sunday School teacher, President of the Men’s Choir, and President of the Finance Committee.
Joe loved to dress to impress and enjoyed playing dominoes with his family. He also loved watching football and basketball. His favorite teams were the Washington Redskins and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Joe will remain in our hearts forever.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Ora Johnson Sr.; brothers, Olen Johnson Jr. and Fred Johnson; sister, Murrell Johnson.
Joe leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 13 years, Cora Johnson; sons, Monte Johnson of Wichita Falls, TX, and Rashad (Misty) Johnson of Prescott, AR; bonus sons, Adam Gulley and Bobby (Colecia) Gulley, both of Prescott, AR, and Chad (Farah) Gulley of Malvern, AR; bonus daughter, Brittnary Gulley of Prescott, AR; 21 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (James) Montgomery of Missouri City, TX; nephew, Montra (Porchia); nieces, Monique (Nathel), Shanita, and Shana; in-laws, Shirley (Walter) McGill, Melissa (Terry) Harris, Dennis Sims, Ruthie (Anthony) Ingram, Sandra (Kevin) Marks, Marcus Gulley, Marvin Sims, Carolyn (Brandon) Scott, Remona Sims, and Latina Sims; special friends, Ed (Cynthia) Sorrells; and a host of relatives and friends.
