Lagreta Kay Avery, 81, of Hope, Arkansas went home to the Lord Sunday, July 30, 2023 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. 

Kay was born in Deann, AR to Clarence and Vivian Burke Barrong. Kay was a homemaker who loved decorating, antiquing and going to craft fairs all over the state. Kay loved reading and passed that love on to her children. She was extremely proud of all her children and grandchildren and loved making trips to see them.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild, Avery Briana Barr.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years Wendell Elmer Avery; one sister Barbara Cummins (Larry) of Hot Springs ; one brother Clarence “Bud” Barrong (Donna) of Prescott; two sons Steven Wendell Avery (Crystal) of London, AR and Mark Allen Avery(Laury) of  Dexter, MO; two daughters Wendy Kay Barr (Donald) of Mountain Home, AR and Beth Avery Mann (Gary) of Colorado Springs, CO. ; eight grandchildren, Kayla Johnson (Kyle), Thomas Avery (Haley), Weston Avery, Jillian Avery, Zachary Barr, Eric Avery, Evan Avery, and Garrett Barr.

Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home. 

Graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Midway Cemetery with Bro. Larry Byers officiating under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Hospice of the Ozarks 811 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home.
