Mr. Lee Edward Reed passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 23, 1946, to Mr. M.C. Reed and Mrs. Gladys McKillion-Reed in Emmet, Arkansas. Lee attended school in the Emmet Public School system and, at an early age, became a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.
Lee was employed by Emmet Mercantile for many years before meeting Ms. Lucy Lindsey in 1989 and relocating to Hope, Arkansas. Upon moving to Hope, he began working for Koen Farms, where he remained for 18 years before retiring due to health concerns. In his retirement, he found joy in simple pleasures—sitting in the yard, visiting with family and friends, and sharing stories over a drink. He had a deep love for music, especially the blues and old-school classics, and could often be heard singing along.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. M.C. Reed and Mrs. Gladys McKillion-Reed; his sister, Lillie Rose Reed; and his brothers, Randy Reed and James Douglas Reed. He is survived by the love of his life for over 35 years, Ms. Lucy Lindsey, and her children, Debra Hale (Henry), Sharon Whitaker (Calvin), and John Anderson (Lisa), along with her grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Ann Cox; his brothers, Harold Reed and James Reed; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
