May 17. 1943 ~ January 10, 2024
Buddy Young, age 80, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024, at the home he built in McNab, surrounded by his loving family. He was a faithful husband to his wife of 55 years, Diane Rosenbaum Young, and a devoted father to his three daughters, Teresa Hall (Michael), Dianna Young (Rachael), and Katherine McCorkle (Mark). Buddy was also a proud grandfather to Hunter (Jessica), Amber, Nicole, Lincoln, Ashley (Sam), Lane (Marissa), Jesse, Madison, Martin, Xander, and Morgan. He is survived by his three sisters, Doris Anne Moyer (Len), Linda McCune, and Brenda Swinney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis E Young and Elva Clayton Young, and twin siblings, Elton Ray and Bonnie Fay Young.
Buddy retired from Day and Zinnerman at Lone Star Army Ammunition plant after 35 years as a railroad engineer. He was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and he had a passion for woodworking, playing his guitar, and organic gardening. Buddy was also a generous man who would show his appreciation to all for a job well done. He was a talented craftsman and jack-of-all-trades, and he enjoyed passing on those skills to his children and grandchildren. He gifted many unique treasures he made on the old wood lathe to family and special friends. Buddy held a wealth of knowledge, including odd facts and tales and was keen to share that knowledge with others.
Buddy was a faithful member of McNab Church of Christ for 20 years where he was the song leader and caretaker. Later, he moved his membership to Melrose Lane and then to the Hope Church of Christ after consolidation. He had a deep love and appreciation for our gospel preacher and our elders. Buddy will be remembered as a good man, a good Christian man, and a great friend to all who knew him. He responded to the Salvation Plan of the New Testament as a young man and never altered from his beliefs, serving the Lord faithfully until he passed from this life. He will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Hope Church of Christ in Hope, Arkansas.
