Life's Reflections
On Wednesday, March 26, 1947, a beautiful baby girl named Mae Ann McMorris was born in Blevins, Arkansas. Mae attended the Blevins School District and graduated from Blevins Training School, Class of 1965. She later enrolled in the Job Corps advanced program for nursing and graduated with a focus in Medical Transcription.
Mae was married to Charles Carrigan for 43 years. To this union were born a set of twins and one daughter. After marriage, she became a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she attended with her husband. She served as a Deaconess, sang in the choir, and worked on the Kitchen Committee. Mae was also a faithful member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in DeAnn, Arkansas, where she confessed Christ at an early age and fully supported until the end.
Mae enjoyed cooking and gardening. She loved hosting gatherings for family and friends and had a passion for working with and mentoring youth. Mae was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star (OES) in Blevins, where she also served as the youth fraternity leader.
Mae Ann Carrigan transitioned to her heavenly home at the age of 78 on October 5, 2025. May she rest in eternal peace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, son, brother, and two sisters.
Mae leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Victoria Bradley; granddaughter, Brookelyn Bradley; brothers, Gill (Janice) McMorris and Spence (Melissa) McMorris; and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives, and friends.
