Martha Ann Cox, 76, of Hope, AR passed away Monday, January 15, 2024, in Texarkana, TX. She was born January 25, 1947, in Logansport, Louisiana to Marjorie Shankles Harrison.
Martha retired from Champion Parts after 44 years of employment. She loved to help others. Her house was the neighborhood hangout, sweet tea shop, and became a home to many that needed it. She loved her family and did not think that blood was the only thing that made you family. She was always up for a road trip. She loved to watch sports especially when her grandkids were playing and would travel near and far to watch them play. She was Nan Nan to not only her grandkids but to everyone. She was proud to tell everyone that she was everyone’s taxi and errand runner, said it kept her young. To know her was to love her. She will always be our blue-haired lady.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James A.W. Cox, 4 brothers-in-law Will Gay, Raymond Force, Matt Cox and Glen Cox, and sister-in-law Sadie Bradford.
Her survivors include son Terry Cox; daughters Janet (Sean) Bradshaw, Rachael (Oaktree) Richards, and adopted daughter Denise Clover; brother J.W.
