Mary Ann Lerew

Mary Ann Lerew, age 74, of Oakhaven, Arkansas passed away on Sunday
September 29, 2024.
Mrs. Lerew was born on February 27, 1950 in York, Pennsylvania to her
parents Austin and Rhoda Kuhn Gable. She was the youngest of 3 children
and graduated in 1968 from Spring Grove High School. On August 15, 1970
she married Troy Lerew Sr. and moved to Hope in 1978, where she raised
her four beloved children. She began her career at Hudson’s in 1983 which
led to her becoming the office manager of the truck shop at Tysons for the
past 41 years.
Mary Ann was a member of Hope First Assembly for the past 46 years and
was actively involved in the church nursery and girl’s ministry. Over the
past 20 years she has made many friends through the TOPS program in
Texarkana. Mary Ann loved to serve others and to give of herself to those
she knew and loved. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word
for anyone she met. Mary Ann never forgot a birthday and loved spending
time with her family and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years, Troy Lerew Sr. of
Oakhaven; four children, Troy Lerew Jr. (Terry) of Hope, AR, Bryan Lerew
(Michelle) of El Dorado, AR, Thomas Lerew (Kristin) of Bryant, AR and
Glenda Ann Christner (Steven) of Redding, CA; a brother Harold Gable
(Joyce) of York, PA; a sister Miriam Tharp of York, PA; ten grandchildren,
Austin Lerew, Nicholas Lerew, Abigail Lerew, John Arthur Henard, Courtney
Lerew, Caleb Lerew, Hannah Christner, Jonathan Christner, Zachary
Christner, Joshua Christner; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hope First Assembly
or to a charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024, at
Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at
Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home with Bro. Jimbo Manning officiating. Burial
will follow at Old Washington Cemetery under the direction of Herndon-
Fuqua Funeral Home.
