Mary Sampson-Armstrong
On Friday, June 5, 1953, a beautiful baby girl was born. Lezzola and Johnnie Sampson welcomed Mary Sampson into the world in Fulton, Arkansas.
Mary received her formal education at Fulton Elementary School and Hope High School. She went on to attend Philander Smith College in Little Rock, AR. Mary also dedicated 20 years of her life as a cook in the cafeteria at Tyson Foods in Hope, AR.
Mary's life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and the love she had for her family and friends. At the age of 71, Mary passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. Her warm presence, gentle spirit, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Lezzola Sampson; her sisters, Pearline Sampson and Earnestine Burns; her nephews, Prentist Cooper and Christopher Rudy White.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her daughter, Christie Sampson of Fulton, AR; her son, Jonathan Sampson of Fulton, AR; bonus daughter, Lesley Koontz of Hope, AR; sister, Elizabeth Nolan of Hope, AR; grandchildren, Jalia Sampson, Jahirah Sampson, Jaden Sampson, and Jayce Sampson; great-granddaughter, Juliana (Princess) Sampson; special childhood friend, Velma Trotter of McNab, AR; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
