Maudine Steed Welch, 88, of Blevins passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, peacefully at her home.

She was born July 11,1933, to Ellis and Inez Phillips Steed in Blevins, AR. 

Maudine was a retired teacher’s aide from the Blevins Public School and was a member of Marlbrook Baptist Church. Her favorite pastime was mowing her yard and singing in church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Max Welch; her parents; one sister Mary Helen Smith; four brothers, Guy, Jim, Red, and Glyn Steed; two grandchildren, Jay Dixon and Haley Staggs Quick; one great grandson, Brody Quick.

Left to cherish her memory, son, Stan Hartsfield of Blevins; a daughter, Jackie White (Larry) of Nashville; son, Phil Hartsfield (Robyn) of Glenwood; brothers, Doug Steed (Donna), Bobby Steed (Jamie) all of Blevins and brother Gene Steed (Wanda) of Camden; sister, Dot Smith (Billy) of Blevins; seven grandchildren, Courtney Hampton, Stephanie Nolte, Chris Hartsfield, Ki Hartsfield, Haylee Barnett, Allee Hartsfield, and Dani Oakes; 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held 6-8 pm Monday, December 6, 2021, at the Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Marlbrook Baptist Church with Bro Neal Ridling and Bro Jerry Hill officiating. Burial will follow at the Marlbrook Cemetery, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
