In Loving Memory of Mea Ta'Teauna Heard

& Baby Bleu Heard-Thomas

Mea Te’Teauna Osha’ Lee Heard, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, left us to be with her heavenly Father on July 24, 2024. Born to Keith and LaQuita Heard on November 22, 2000, Mea touched many lives with her kindness, strength, and vibrant spirit.

Her academic career included being a member of the Nashville High School band, where she played the bass clarinet and later advanced to color guard. Her achievements included being a member of the honor society and graduating as an honor student in May 2019. She went on to attend Ouachita Baptist University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in May 2023. Before her passing, Mea was enrolled to begin pursuing a Master of Psychology in August 2024. She was also with child, her precious Baby Bleu Apollo Heard-Thomas, when she passed away.

Mea was known for her petite stature, distinctive style, and quick wit. She was absolutely one of the most ambitious and smartest people you would ever want to meet. To her close family, she will be remembered as a fighter due to her long battle with Type I diabetes and her survival of multiple back surgeries. Mea’s values stemmed from being pro-choice, supporting women's empowerment, and being family-oriented. She will live in our hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her uncle, Elbert Lee Palmer, and her grandmother, Mattie White.

Mea leaves behind to cherish her memory a special friend, Zion Thomas; a loving father, Keith Heard Sr.; a loving mother, LaQuita Heard; godmother, Jasma Willis; three siblings, Keith Heard Jr., Raven Heard, and Braylon Gentry; grandmothers, Shelia Palmer and Earsie Trotter; nieces, Lafaya and Niomi; nephews, Trey and Khalil; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
