Mrs. Dorothy Jean Sanders

It was Saturday, May 5, 1945 in Lewisville, Arkansas when a beautiful baby girl named Dorothy Jean Rawls was born to the late Dave and Alice Mae Rawls. At an early age, Dorothy attended school in Lewisville, AR. Afterwards she moved to Camden, AR and married Ardia V. McCree. The McCree’s soon welcomed three daughters. 

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Throughout her journey, she married Rondie Charles Sanders and to that union one daughter and a baby boy was born.

Over the years, Mrs. Sanders was deeply loved and gained many friends along the way. At age 75 in Texarkana, AR, she entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 19, 2020. May she be kept in perfect peace forever.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Dave and Alice Rawls; husbands, Rondie Charles Sanders and Ardia V. McCree; brothers, James “Sonny” Rawls, Dwight Williams, Charles “Dollman” Williams; sister, Mildred Satterwhite; and son-in-law, Marcus White. 

Mrs. Sanders leaves to cherish her precious memories; four daughters, Janice McCree-Nicholson and her husband Adrian Nicholson, Dorcas McCree-White both of Texarkana, AR, Ardia Y. McCree of Little Rock, AR, Bridget Sanders of Texarkana, Texas; one son, Michael Sanders of Austin, TX; brothers, Jack Rawls of Chicago, Illinois, Clarence Rawls and his wife Cynthia Rawls of Little Rock, AR, and Larry Joe Henry of Midland, TX; sister, Mary Hollins and her husband Chris Hollins of Texarkana, AR; special niece, Kimberly Nicole Williams; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, also the Briggs family, other close relatives and friends.

*Public visitation will be 6 pm - 7 pm CST | Friday, September 25, 2020 @ McFadden & Hitchye Memorial Chapel, 411 S. Walnut St., Hope, AR.

**Graveside service will begin at 10 am CST | Saturday, September 26, 2020 @ Nash Cemetery, Kings Hwy & Old Redwater Rd., Nash, TX 

NOTE: Social distancing and safety protocols will be followed. Face masks are required.
