Mrs. Frances Lorene Gathright, 96, of Washington, AR passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in Hope.

Frances was born January 4, 1928, in McNab, AR to Thomas Jefferson and Minnie Orie Lively Stout.   She retired after 30 years of nursing and was a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church.  Frances was an avid gardener and kept her yard in perfect condition. She was in a bowling league, played piano, loved to dance and was a serious animal lover.  She especially loved spending time with her family.   

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Thomas Downs Hamilton “Billy” and Doyle Gathright; her daughter, Marilyn Lemley; her granddaughter Stacee Arledge; numerous brothers and a sister. 

She is survived by her sons, Bobby Hamilton of Texarkana, AR and Thomas Hamilton (Debra) of Washington, AR; six grandchildren Shannon Arledge (Lynn), Stephanie Rhodes (Dempsey), Brian Hamilton (Brandi), Andrea Giles (Seth), Trent Hamilton (Starla), and Cameron Hamilton (Malinda); a host of great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. 

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2024, 12:00pm to 2:00pm.  Chapel service to follow visitation with Bro. Neal Ridling officiating. Interment afterwards at Westmoreland Cemetery, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Hope.
