Nathaniel Richard Nelson (Tip) was born June 7, 1941 in Madison, IL to the union of Charles C. Nelson and Rosie B. (Johnson) Nelson.  He was the 11th child of 13 children.

He leaves behind a wife, Loretta Nelson; two stepchildren, Alexis Dotson and Trevail Dotson; six step grandchildren; two sisters, Dr. Ernestine Nelson-Terry and Velma Lea (Nelson) Donald; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Allen of Lancaster, CA and Lisa Griffen of St. Louis, MO; brothers-in-law, George Moore (Vanessa) of East St. Louis, MO, Dale Moore (Elizabeth), James  Moore (Norma) of St. Louis, MO.

Visitation will be held 11am-5pm Friday at the funeral home.  Graveside service will be held 2:30pm Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Nashville.  Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
