Odell "Buster" Gulley, Jr.

Reflections of Life
Odell “Buster” Gulley Jr.

Odell Gulley Jr., also known as Buster, was born on Tuesday, January 7, 1975 to Odell Gulley and the late Sharon Harris in Hope, Arkansas. Buster professed his beliefs in Christ at an early age, when he became a member and was baptized at Rising Star Baptist Church. He later switched his membership to Lonoke Missionary Baptist Church where he proudly sung in the choir.

He attended Hope School District and later transferred to Texarkana Arkansas School District. Buster loved sports! He played basketball, football, ran track, and boy could he run!!

He was previously employed at Georgia-Pacific, EPI and SMI Joist. On Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the age of 45, he gained his heavenly wings. Buster was a great father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren. He was his children’s number one fan and biggest supporter in their sports.

Most importantly, Buster was an overall great person. He never met a stranger, and he was liked by everyone he came in contact with. He had a good heart and show loved to all of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Harris and stepfather, Charles Conway; grandmothers, Louisa Young and Clara Harris; grandfathers, Olen Gulley Sr. and Artie B. Harris; and great grandmother, Rosie Pondexter.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his father and stepmother, Odell Sr. and Sheila Gulley of Hope, AR; eight sons, DeMarco Gulley of Paris, Texas, Devyonne Adam of Texarkana, AR, Christopher George of Arlington, TX, D’Karius Gulley, K’Karius Gulley, J’ Kari Gulley, Kingston Gulley of Nashville, and KaMauri Conway of Hope, AR; two daughters, VonShelia (Kaycoy Jr) Anderson of Hope, AR and Shaneequa Gulley of Arlington, TX; six sisters, Angela Smith of Texarkana, TX, Kenyatta Gulley, Saundra Nash, Dedra Gulley of Hope, AR, Fretricia Conway of Texarkana, AR, and bonded sister, Latonya Conway of Lonoke, AR; four brothers, Antonio Conway of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Johnny Conway of Irving, TX, Dontrell Richard of Hope, AR, and bonded brother Charles Jr. (Gen) Conway of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren, Kayveon Anderson, KayCoy Anderson III of Hope, AR, Sa’ Nijha George of Arlington, TX, and Kamden Daniels of Paris, TX; very special friend, Patricia Pace; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
