Ray Estes, 97, of Prescott, Arkansas passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024. Ray was born July 27, 1926, in McClain County, Oklahoma to Maude and Harve Estes. Ray was reared and educated in McClain County, graduating from Dibble High School. Ray served his country in World War II in the United States Army, European theater. He returned to Oklahoma after the war and worked in the oil fields as a roughneck and drilling equipment salesman. In 1966 Ray moved to Arkansas where he owned and operated the OTASCO store of Prescott. He was a member of First Baptist Church Prescott where he served as a deacon.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother Charles Estes, 2 sons, Monte and Roger, and his beloved wife of 55 years, Oleta Beam.
Ray is survived by his daughters Sherry Skouby of Oklahoma and Nannette (Jim) Chism of Bentonville; his sons Mark (Diane) Estes of White Hall and Chris (Cathy) Estes of Fulton; his grandchildren Raquel, Kristen, Eric, Sherolyn, Holly, Tiffany and Megan; and 6 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Prescott.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 18th, 2024, 10am-11am at the Brazzel/Cornish Chapel. Graveside service will follow at DeAnn Cemetery at 11am.
