Rita Gail Campbell, age 76, of Prescott, Arkansas passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born January 21, 1947, in Raleigh, North Carolina to the late P.H. and Marian (Caudle) Liles. At a young age, her family moved to Florida. This is where she found her love for horses and rodeo. Gail met her husband, Roy D. Campbell, Sr. in Florida prior to their move to Arkansas. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Gail put herself through college, graduating from Henderson State University as a Registered Nurse. She served her community and worked at many local hospitals including Nevada County Hospital in Prescott, Christus St. Michaels in Texarkana, Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Baptist Hospital in Arkadelphia and Little Rock, Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, as well as a travel nurse. She worked in various areas throughout her career including Labor and Delivery, Emergency, Floor Nurse, ICU, Home Health, and a short time as a School Nurse for Prescott Public Schools. 

Her true passion was her farm, where she spent her entire life raising cattle, quarter horses, and many of her grandkids. Gail will be remembered for her compassion for others, her work ethic, and her strength.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy D. Campbell, Sr.; daughters, Jennifer D. Campbell and Dee Dee Campbell; parents, P.H. and Marian Liles; brothers, Leon Liles and David Liles.

Gail is survived by a son, Roy D. Campbell, Jr. (Michelle); daughter, Dina Hayes (Rusty); grandchildren, Dakota Campbell (Megan), Cheyenne Lewis (Justin), Jonathan Campbell, Tiffany Campbell, Kelsey Hayes; great-grandchild, Brayden Lewis; two brothers, Bobby Oliver (Sarah) and Jeff Liles; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation is scheduled 5:30-6:30pm Monday, June 26, 2023 at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home in Prescott. Memorial Service following at 6:30pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial donations be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
