Robert J. “Bob” Cockman, age 90 of Hope Arkansas, passed away Friday January 6, 2023, in Hope. Bob was born on November 11, 1932, in Perryville, Arkansas, to Robert Franklin and Marie Cook Cockman. He was a retired Corporal of 28 years with the Arkansas State Police, United States Army Veteran and former sheriff of Nevada County Prescott, Arkansas. Bob was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Bob for years loved to attend singings at the Community Center in Prescott. Bob also enjoyed substitute teaching for the surrounding school district. Bob loved to see and make a difference in young kids and adults in their life. and adults. He became so popular among the teacher and kids when teachers would have to be absent, they requested him to be their substitute. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean Cockman, brother Donald Cockman and sister, Judy Long.
Survivors include: son, Bobby Cockman, two daughters: Donna Rhodes, Paula Billups (Charles) sister, Doris English, grandchildren, Jason Talmadge “Tal” Rhodes (Tabatha) Chase Billups, Chance Billups (Brianna) great-grandchildren, Revel, Payton and Brady, one special friend, Pat Holder and a host of friends.
