Roger D. McLelland, 77 of Hope, Arkansas passed away Monday, April 22, 2024, in Little Rock at the VA hospital. He was born on November 17, 1946, in Gurdon, Arkansas to Tillman and Alyne McLelland. 

He is preceded in death by his father Tillman, mother Alyne, and sister Martha McLelland Plumlee. 

Roger is survived by two children Teena Elrod(Max) of Texarkana and Roger, Jr(Denyse) of Farmington, two grandchildren, Hunter Elrod(Kat) of Texarkana and Ashtyn Turner(Donnie) of Hindsville, three great grandchildren Huntlee and Audrey Elrod, Leif Turner and a sister Robin Townsend(Ron) of Hope.

At the age of 17 he joined the US Marine Corps and proudly served in Vietnam. After the military he was an over the road truck driver for over 45 years. He retired from Tyson in 2012. In his later years he enjoyed spending time at the Prescott Raceway. 

We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to his friends and neighbors who visited him. Also, the VA hospital in Little Rock Hospital for the many years of great care. 

Memorial services will be held for the immediate family and close friends.
