Shirley Mae (Hall) Ford


Shirley Mae (Hall) Ford, 87, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on December 13, 2023, in Clinton, TN. She was born on December 4, 1936, to Tom and Alma Kate Hall. Shirley was a beloved hairdresser for 40 years, using her skills to make others feel beautiful. She was known for her exceptional talent and dedication to her craft.

Shirley was a devout member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church, where she found solace and community. Her faith was an important part of her life and provided her with strength and comfort.

In her free time, Shirley enjoyed quilting and Tole painting. These hobbies allowed her to express her creativity and brought her great joy. She found fulfillment in creating beautiful pieces and sharing them with her friends and loved ones.

Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Verlin. Their bond was a testament to their commitment and devotion to each other.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Dr. Victor Ford (Cindy) of Hope, AR, and Stephen Ford (Pam) of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Christine Sams (Chad), Nathan Ford (Abby) Makenzie Wills (Josh), and Natalie; step-grandchildren Daniel Hamilton (Kyla), Adam Hamilton (Courtney), Emily Davis (Kelly) all of Hope, AR. She was blessed with great-grandchildren, Skyler and Cooper Ford; step-great-grandchildren, Logan Cox, Kennedy Hamilton, Karson Hamilton, and Gunner Davis. She is also survived by her sisters Madeline Ford, Geraldine (Jerrie) Bacon, and Angie Gaby.

Shirley's love for her family was immeasurable, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Tetrick Funeral Services. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Dr. Greg Burton officiating.

Shirley will be laid to rest on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 10:00 am at Washington County Memory Gardens in the mausoleum.

Shirley Ford will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kind heart, talent, and love for her family will be remembered and cherished forever.
