Mrs. Wanda Jean Powell, age 89, of Hope, passed away on Tuesday September 24, 2024. She was born on February 7, 1935, to Dale and Eva Brantley Cearley in Patmos. She spent most of her life working in Public Relations at Hope Public School, she was an active member in the Hope community working at KXAR Radio, the Hope Star, participated and photographed the aviation shows at the Hope Municipal Airport. She was an avid photographer. She also loved to garden, planting her flowers and trees.
Wanda is preceded in death by her mother and father, Dale and Eva Cearley, and three brothers James, Paul, and Billy Cearley.
She is survived by her husband Roderick Powell, daughters Pam Bobo and Paige Bobo, son Chip Powell, one brother Ronald Cearley, sister Doris Santos, grandchildren Braree (Mark) McCaslin, Mitchell (Jill) Bobo, Misti (Chris) Dixon, Brian (Carrie) Bobo, Fiona Powell, seven great grandchildren Mason McCaslin, Max McCaslin, Addison Bobo, Britann Bobo, Lydia Bobo, Julia Bobo, Sawyer Dixon, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside service will be Friday September 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
