This month’s Historic Downtown Hope 4th ThursDAY Slip Away kicked off at 4 pm on October 24th with a busy Farmer’s Market at The Hub and many downtown businesses displaying sidewalk sales and serving refreshments.
The Farmer’s Market was hosted by it’s usual vendors selling fresh produce, homemade goods, jewelry and more. Pat Rhoads, Arnold Farms, Jack Three, Fern Dixon and many others were present for the event, welcoming locals and visitors to support the community. This hosting was the last market that will be held weekly for the remainder of the year. The market will now only be open once a month until the new season.
Downtown stores like Rae Tay’s, Hebrews 11:1, The Pickett Fence, LaGrone Williams and several others took part in this months Slip Away showing off their sales on clothes, dishes and decor while offering refreshments to the visitors out enjoying Downtown. Hebrews 11:1 had the streets lit up with fun as they played music for everyone out on the sidewalks in front of their coffee shop.
The Chamber of Commerce will take be taking a break from hosting a Slip Away for the remainder of the holiday season. The Christmas open house will be November 21, 2019 so be sure to head downtown next month and get in the Christmas Spirit.
