Although COVID-19 restrictions have caused many postponements and cancellations for events over the last 3 months, Prescott School District has had one goal in mind all along- for their seniors to have a traditional graduation. This Thursday, the Prescott High School Class of 2020 will finally see this goal come to fruition as they walk across the field to receive their diplomas.
The Prescott High School Graduation will be held on the Eddie Jackson Field at Cummins Stadium, Thursday, July 2 at 7:00 pm. The ceremony will also be streamed LIVE on SWARK.Today so those unable to attend may watch in real-time. Graduates will be seated 6 feet apart on the far end of the football field nearest the scoreboard and facing towards the opposite goal post. Members of the audience will be seated in the stands on both home and visitors sides. This will allow all attendees to see the graduates.
Even with the state now allowing traditional graduations to take place, there are still several guidelines that must be followed in order to host such a large event and school administration asks that all attendees please adhere to them.
These guidelines MUST be followed by all attendees:
- All persons present are required to wear a mask, except for children under 10 years of age, who are exempt.
- Every other row will be roped off to keep 6 feet of physical distance from others. Household groups may sit together, but 6 feet should be maintained between other groups.
- NO congregating will be allowed before, during or after the ceremony in parking lots or inside the stadium
- NO ONE is allowed inside the football field/track fence, with the exception of graduates and approved school personnel.
A photo of each graduate will be taken as they receive their diploma and/or an award and mailed to each graduate. The Prescott School District would like to thank everyone for their patience as they waited to make this a reality for their students and their families.
