Prescott’s ‘Clean Up’ Day set for Wednesday

By Rick Kennedy, managing editor
The Prescott/Nevada Chamber of Commerce along with Firestone, the City of Prescott, and the Great Arkansas Clean Up is preparing for its own event this Wednesday, March 20.
“We are looking for volunteers to help hit the streets to get our community cleaned up. If you would like to volunteer, we will be meeting at Sterling Square from 8 am – 12 pm to hand out Trash Bags, T shirts, Gloves, Vests and free Sonic drink vouchers to all participating,” Chamber Director Jamie Hillery said in a statement Monday.
Hillery also said that today, Monday, was the final day to register for bulk pickup at local homes or businesses.  As of 2:00 p.m. Monday, residents still had approximately two-and-a-half hours to call in for the bulk pickup.
“The Prescott Sanitation Department will be spending the day helping to make sure all bulk items are picked up and hauled off for you. If you have a pick up you would like to schedule please call the Chamber of Commerce office today at 870-887-2101,” she said.
