Sandra Louise Lucas was born in Troy, OH August 23, 1940 to Charles H. and Betty Dorsey. She is the first born of three siblings. Sandra graduated from Van Cleve High School in 1958.
In 1964, she moved to Tollette, AR. Shortly after, she moved to Nashville, AR, where she began her career at Tyson Foods and united with Dodson Street Church of Christ. She worked faithfully at Tyson Foods for 34 years before retiring. After retirement and health issues, she moved back to Troy, OH for a period of time. In 2014, she moved back to Hope, AR, where she remained until her death.
Sandra enjoyed reading, watching westerns, and spending time with friends and family. She departed this earth on October 28, 2019. She leaves to cherish her memories four children: Vicki J. Lucas (Indianapolis, IN), Timothy R. (Sonya) Lucas, Mary Beth Pree all of Hope, AR, and John Graves (San Angelo, TX); grandchildren, Travis Lucas, James (Yvonne) Booker, Jessica (Phillpe) Davidson, Shunna Ray Booker, Miranda Hopson, Rodnesia Hill, Dacarlius (Dee) Lucas, Tesuansey (Tee) Link, Chasmine Alexander, Torrico Hawthorne, Teneshia Hawthorne, Karva (Montel) Lidge, Tierra Lucas, Akirra Lucas, Shaletha Reed, Kaylen Johnson, Jalyen Johnson, John Graves, Jr., Jarrod Graves, Phelecia Graves and Tamara Graves. A host of great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Sandra was preceded in death by two sons, Chester D. Newton and Gregory A. Lucas and two daughters, Delia Lucas and Michelle L. Booker. She was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Rodney Pree. She also leaves to cherish her memories one brother, James H. (Joyce) Dorsey of Cincinnati, OH and one sister, Celia K. (James) Washington of Dayton, OH; one niece, Kristen D. (Charles) Johnson; one nephew, James E. (Stacey); and four great nieces and nephews. Other special friends include Cameron Henry, Houston Reed, and Willie Tatum.
Visitation will be 11am-5pm, family hour 6-7pm Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, November 2 at Haynes Chapel Baptist Church, 300 Highway 32 Hope, AR. Burial will be at Scott’s Memorial Gardens in Perrytown. Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
