In a close game throughout, the Foreman Gators scored on the last play to beat the Bears 22-16. After an impressive win against Mineral Springs the Bears couldn’t pull it off Thursday night, moving to (1-1) and the Gators move to (4-0).
The game started off slow with neither teams scoring in the first quarter. Then both offenses got moving, with the Gators striking first for a touchdown and 2-point conversion. Spring Hill’s Dalton Glover scored soon after and got the 2-points as well. Before the end of the half the Gators scored again making it 16-8.
Coming out of the break, the Bears found the end zone with a TD run from TJ Tipton and the 2-point conversion by Dalton Glover bringing the score to 16-16, with the scoreboard remaining the same for much of the second half.
On the last drive of regulation, Foreman drove the ball down the field and passed the ball in the final seconds. The pass was incomplete, but a pass interference was called on the Bears, giving the Gators one more chance with no time on the clock. A quick pass on the outside was taken all the way down the sideline for a Foreman touchdown and win, bringing the final score to 22-16.
Next Thursday, the Jr. Bears travel to Lafayette County to take on the Cougars at 7:00pm.
