Trooper McWilliams Flown to Houston for Next Phase of Recovery

According to the Arkansas State Police, Corporal Clayton McWilliams, who was seriously injured in a crash while on duty, has been transferred from the Little Rock Hospital where he has been receiving medical treatment to TIRR Memorial Hermann Rehab and Research Hospital in Houston, TX.
Corporal McWilliams has been in the hospital since Thursday, January 3rd when his patrol vehicle left the roadway in heavy rain and struck a tree along Highway 71 in Little River County while he was responding to an emergency call.

According to the ASP’s Facebook page, Corporal McWilliams was escorted to the airport Tuesday by a number of Troopers where he was transferred from ambulance to a medical aircraft to be flown to Houston where he will start the next phase of his recover at the 3rd highest ranked medical rehab and research hospital in the country. The ASP spokesman posted that they have no doubt that Corporal McWilliams is right where he needs to be and they ask that everyone keep the prayers going for his healing and rehabilitation.

The ASP expressed thanks to each and every person who have prayed, sent cards, donated blood and devoted time to help Corporal Mcwilliams’ family. Fundraisers and events, which have popped up all over, were described by the ASP as nothing short of amazing.
