Two arrested in drug raid

On September 14, 2018 at approximately 8 a.m., officers of the Hope Police Department’s Special Response Team along with Federal Agents and Agents of the 8th North Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the 700 block of West Ave A in Hope, Arkansas.
Arrested during the search was Leon Nelson, Jr, 38, of Hope, and Leon Nelson Sr, 72, of Hope. During the course of the search, Agents located and seized approximately 5 grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Both Nelson, Jr. and Nelson, Sr. were transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility where Nelson, Jr. was booked in and charged with three counts of delivery of Methamphetamine, possession with the purpose to deliver methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a drug premises.
Nelson, Sr. was booked in and charged with maintaining a drug premises. Both were held for a first court appearance.
