Wednesday is National Signing Day

By Otis Kirk

FAYETTEVILLE — Wednesday is National Signing Day in the late period.

Prior to the NCAA allowing recruits to sign in the Early Signing Period in December the first Wednesday in February was a huge event. Arkansas will sign Ashdown four-star tight end Shamar Easter on Wednesday.

Sam Pittman will meet with the media Wednesday afternoon. In addition, Arkansas’ three newest hires will be introduced. They are offensive coordinator Dan Enos, co-defensive coordinator Marcus Woodson and secondary coach Deron Wilson. Co-defensive coordinator Travis Williams and Morgan Turner who has the tight ends were introduced earlier.

Easter, 6-5, 225, committed to Arkansas on Aug. 13, 2021, but opted not to sign in December due to Dowell Loggains, his lead recruiter, leaving to become offensive coordinator South Carolina.

Easter took an official visit to South Carolina in December, but then also took an unofficial visit to Arkansas in January. Following the trip to Fayetteville, Easter reaffirmed his pledge to the Razorbacks.
