Westerman Reacts to President Biden’s Year of Crisis
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Westerman (R-AR) released the following statement on the one year anniversary of President Biden’s inauguration.
“Today marks the end of President Joe Biden’s first year in office, and it is important to note his abysmal performance characterizing a year of self-inflicted crises,” said Rep. Westerman. “This Administration has created a border crisis by incentivizing the flow of illegal immigrants. The President has downplayed the inflation crisis that has hit Arkansans and every American household hard. President Biden has failed to deliver on his promise to end the COVID-19 crisis and has created an education crisis as schools look to shut down once again.
The Administration has not made progress on the supply chain crisis or the worker shortage crisis that is devastating our economy and shaped an energy crisis by ending U.S. energy dependence in favor of relying on our enemies. We witnessed possibly the most alarming crisis when President Biden created a debacle in Afghanistan, costing the lives of 13 American servicemembers and leaving Americans behind.
While the year of crises has been difficult, the great state of Arkansas and the American people remain resilient. We will move forward, we will revitalize our economy, and we will stand in defense of our American values of liberty and freedom. Congressional Republicans are committed to turning the tide of government control and meddling, and fighting for our constituents’ values.”
