FAYETTEVILLE – A pair of Razorbacks with the Arkansas men’s track and field program received Academic All-America distinction among men’s track and field/cross country as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Senior TJ Tomlyanovich was named second team Academic All-America in collecting his third honor overall. He was named third team Academic All-America the two previous years. Junior Ernest Cheruiyot was named third team Academic All-America in earning his first honor.

The Arkansas men’s program has a total of 24 Academic All-America honors from 21 athletes with nine first-team, nine second-team, and six third-team selections.

Tomlyanovich is the first Razorback to receive three Academic All-America honors from CSC. Previously, Jaanus Uudmae earned a pair of first team honors in 2005 and 2006.

Joining Cheruiyot and Tomlyanovich in receiving Academic All-District honors in 2026 include Jerome Campbell and Jack Williams.

In a season with only outdoor eligibility remaining, Tomlyanovich advanced to the NCAA Championships in the 400m and 4 x 400m relay. He finished ninth in the 400m final and ran on the third place 4 x 400m relay as Arkansas secured the NCAA Outdoor team title with the six points from the relay performance.

In his final performance as a Razorback at John McDonnell Field, Tomlyanovch set a career best of 45.11 to place third overall in the second round of the 400m at the NCAA West meet hosted by Arkansas. The time ranks No. 9 on the UA all-time list.

On the UA all-time list in the 4 x 400m relay, Tomlyanovich has run first leg on eight of the top 10 times, including four performances in 2026, as well as a ninth relay he anchored. The time of 2:59.87 that earned bronze at the 2026 NCAA Championships ranks No. 3 all-time at Arkansas.

Cheruiyot contributed to all four championships the Razorbacks claimed in 2026. Indoors, he totaled 19 team points in finishing second in the SEC 3,000m, placing third in the NCAA 5,000m and finishing fourth in the NCAA 3,000m.

Times of 7:40.53 and 13:17.48 each rank No. 3 on the UA all-time indoor list in the 3,000m and 5,000m.

Outdoors, Cheruiyot produced 18 points at SEC Outdoor with a victory in the 10,000m and runner-up finish in the 5,000m. Then 10 more points followed at NCAA Outdoor as he placed third in the 10,000m and fifth in the 5,000m.

Cheruiyot broke the Arkansas 10,000m record with a 27:41.59 effort that bettered the 27:52.10 mark set in 2009 by Shawn Forrest. In the 5,000m, Cheruiyot moved to No. 2 on the UA all-time list with a 13:15.30 mark that just fell shy of the 13:12.74 Razorback record held by Alistair Cragg from 2004.
